WHAT'S ON THE WATCH FACE?

from admin on 12/28/2021 01:13 PM

Since the ScanWatch looks like a classic watch, it lacks a vibrant digital display. Instead, behind the two levers are two circular inserts that show the time.

The top one just looks like a black circle until you press the crown; then the PMOLED display lights up, showing your health and fitness data, as well as any notifications from your phone.

Turn the wheel to view options such as time and date; current heart rate; number of steps; distance; and floors climbed. If you keep scrolling through the parameters, you can take an EKG or SpO2 and also record the activity rafiqsonsonline.com/product-category/royal-london/.

The second insert is a single lever analog dial that is useful for quickly reviewing daily steps without having to turn the wheel.

The hand slowly rotates around the dial throughout the day as you move and shows your steps as a percentage. For example, if your hand reaches the three o'clock position, you have reached 25% of your daily stride goal. For clarity, the 50% and 100% positions are marked on the dial.

PHONE AND DOCTOR REQUIRED FOR SETUP
To get started with ScanWatch, you first need to download the Withings Healthmate app (available for Android and iOS). You cannot set the clock from a computer.

The app is free and doesn't bombard you with any sales or premium subscription offers. When you launch the app and create or sign in to your Healthmate account, the first step is to pair your phone with your watch rafiqsonsonline.com/product-category/daniel-klein/. Then just follow the rest of the on-screen setup instructions.

As I mentioned earlier, you need a doctor to read your first ECG and approve this feature. The process is virtual and Withings makes it easy for free. Some states may require you to contact a doctor by phone before obtaining authorization, but neither the doctor nor Whitings will bill you for the call. For more information, check out Withings resources on the physician approval process for your ECG.

The company provided me with a version of the app that didn't require this step, but for everyone else in the US, the process is pretty straightforward. When the app prompts you to take your first ECG reading, it will show you illustrations on how to hold and position the watch. However, the instructions could better explain that the watch case acts as a sensor (when you touch it, you complete the circuit that allows the ECG to continue).

Once you have done an acceptable reading, the Healthmate app will send the data to the doctors at Heartbeat Health, who will review your results within 48 hours. Heartbeat Health is a separate healthcare technology company that uses Withings to read and validate your first ECG results and dispense a prescription to enable the watch's ECG feature.

Along with the initial reading, you must give your consent, so please submit some personal information (your name, date of birth and contact information) to Heartbeat Health as well. Until Heartbeat Health verifies your data and issues a prescription, you will not be able to see the ECG readings in the app; they remain hidden until you get your doctor's approval.

If everything goes smoothly and you get permission to use the ECG, you can do as many follow-up readings as your heart desires.

The ECG results are displayed in the app and you can export them to share with your doctor. In addition to the ECG, SpO2 and fitness tracking capabilities that I explain below, the app can also help you perform VO2max estimates and log your weight over time.
